If they have to lose tonight they need to at least get the game to OT. We just need to keep accumulating points!

Steve I can't agree with your assessment that the Ducks would hold any advantage in goal. Fleury makes the saves when the Penguins need him to, Hiller for a large part of this season has done the opposite IMO.

Hiller has picked up his game lately but as a fantasy owner of his, I know all too well how his year has gone.

Yep, this is a brutal back-to-back against a good team that's rested. Hopefully Jonas can steal a point.

I think they have a better chance than a team like the Sabres. They have to keep accumulating points like they have but the 3 point games are a killer for any team trailing towards the end of the year. If they are within 5 or 6 points by the deadline, why not?

Yeah, but you can throw out everything prior to Jan. 1st. That is irrelevant now. His season numbers are sh!t but his recent numbers are Vezina-worthy.

True enough. And I know the infamous 3 point games well here in Calgary.

They're going to need a lot of help. Take the Yotes-Canucks game 2 nights ago. Roberta lets in a softy with about a minute left and Phoenix gets a point.

The real positive to the rest of the season though is that the Ducks play exclusively in the west after this trip. That's a lot of 4 point games.

All I can say is that I watch both teams almost equally (Ducks are my #2) and I just don't see any advantage for the Ducks in that position when it pertains to Fleury.

I was more or less referring to this moment in the season. As a fan of an Eastern Conference team that shall remain nameless, I have seen what Fleury can do and I respect him tremendously.

I hope Hiller keeps it up though. Perhaps he has finally shaken off the cobwebs from the vertigo.

Fleury has had 2 poor games in a row by his standards but he has been stellar all year. If we get the pre February Fleury tonight there is no way Anaheim holds the goaltending advantage. Should be a good one!

Whoever made the schedule this year must really have it in for Anaheim. These two teams would make a great playoff best of 7 match-up...But no matter who's the better or hotter team, Anaheim is playing their 3rd game in the last 4 days, while having to deal with travel and fatigue. My heart's on Anaheim, my head says Penguins, but regardless of the outcome, Anaheim is too hot right now to let this game decide whether or not they trade Selanne and Vis...Ducks will make the playoffs if they chose to improve at the deadline

I'm pretty sure I can speak for most ducks fans when I say that I have no idea how fluery is playing these days. Have not gotten to watch him play all year. However, hiller is playing out of his mind right now. He is essentially keeping the ducks in these close games with huge saves time and time again. The beginning of the season was not his fault at all. The defense was terrible and the team just did not help what so ever.

Pens I believe had a brutal stretch in October where they played 14 games, just so happens the Ducks are in their tough spot right now.

Yes I do. They are playing great and finding a way to win games. There is still a long way to go. Plus teams like Chicago are awful lately and could totally drop out of the top 8. They still have a huge chance

You gotta embrace the history! And does it bug you when Kings fans say stuff like that? Just remember, our team's name may have come from a Disney movie, and we may have had Tinkerbell superimposed tapping our goal scorers on the shoulder with her wand on our early TV broadcasts, but they have to root for the Kings.

Glad to see the Ducks doing better...you look at their roster and site there and think "how is this team not in the top 8?"

And Steve, I know you've been razzed already about this, but you can keep Hiller, we're quite happy with MAF.
